Gramita..not my grandmother by blood but a wonderful woman I loved. To pinpoint just one memory would be impossible as so many flood my mind. From the day I met her she has showed so much love, shared her heart and opened her life stories with me. I loved to visit her and listen to her days with her hunny, how they met, how they grew up together and danced. She would recall all the details of their jobs, how she found love, her travels and how they ended up in San Diego. I would watch her laugh from across the table and admire her. I miss her voice. I miss her with my children and the way she looked at them. I'm so honored to have known her and for my children to have had such a bright light in their lives. I will always remember her with so much love.

Mom, as known by many. We could of called her Teresa or Mrs. Hernandez, but to those who shared many joyful times, in our camping group, she deserved much more respect, she was not our friend or acquaintance, we held her at a much higher level, we called her Mom. We all listen to her, in the advise she gave. Always telling those around her to love one another and look out for each other. Always stay close and be each other's support. She gave wonderful advise and examples of having a wonderful marriage. If ever there was question on what was right or wrong the final word was hers, and that ended any question. She will always be remembered and brought up in our conversations with joy in our hearts. Mom living now in her Glory is the peace in our hearts. Mucho love always, Sylvia & Ken

There will always be a special place in my heart for my Nina. I knew from a young age that my Nina was special and I was fortunate because she was MY Godmother. I have always had much love and admiration for my Nina. She was the epitome of a faithful, devoted and religious woman. The love, kindness and happiness that her faith brought to her life was truly a gift to everyone around her. I will remember my Nina happy, smiling and laughing. I will never forget her sweet nature and loving ways. My Nina was a woman with a beautiful heart and she often spoke of my Nino and her family with great love and pride. I always admired the love she showed and had for her family and the love they learned and gave in return, not only to her but to their families as well. They learned from the best.
My Nina was very dear to me and I will cherish the memories I have of her always.
I love you, Nina
Our deepest sympathies go out to the entire family. We are thinking of you all.

I would like to give my most heartfelt condolences to the Hernandez Family. My Tia was a beautiful person inside and out. She was my 2nd momma when my own momma left this earth. She always worried and asked for me and wanted to know how I was doing. She loved me unconditionally and I really felt the love. My fondest memories of my Tia are ones with my momma. They were so happy together. When they were still able to go to the casinos by themselves, I would drop them off at the bus and they were just like school girls so happy and content. I really miss those days and seeing them together. My only consolation is that my momma and her "sister" are together again in heaven. Elsa, Martha and Toby, we love you all 💜 Jojo, Victor and Natalie

John 11:25-26- loss is a part of life. But because Jesus is "the resurrection and the life". Those who believe in him will one day experience an end of all death and sorrow.

I just wanted to share a kindess that
Sra. Hernandez & her daughter Elsa extended to our family in 2009. My daughter, Veronica, was in ICU at Sharp Memorial in an induced coma. She had contracted the H1N1 virus & was 5 months pregnant! Her prognosis was dire. They told us her & baby only had a 10-20 % chance of survival! But praise God, they both survived! And we were so grateful for the kindness & support we received from Mrs. Hernandez & Elsa's visits! They gave us hope & comfort with their kind words & prayers! As the years passed, we always looked forward to see her at family gatherings & will miss our conversations. She was a lovely lady!

So many fond memories of a beautiful person. Whenever you saw Teddy you were guaranteed to be met with a great big beautiful smile. She loved conversation and we enjoyed hearing her stories, especially of her childhood and her family. She loved life and felt so blessed from childhood until God called her home. She will be missed, her faith was strong and she was sure she would be reunited with the loved ones that proceeded her in death. Rest In Peace Teddy, you will be remembered for decades to come. We came to love Teresita as we sat close at Corpus Christy Catholic Church! She was always a gentle, loving , kind, friendly and a faithful servant of the Lord!
Teresita was a pleasure talking, sharing our thoughts and our lives! We will miss seeing her, but she is in our hearts and in our thoughts!
Dear Lord, you are listening to our pleading. Help us find in your Son comfort and consolation in our sadness, please give us the courage to live through this hour. Make our faith stronger through Christ our Lord! Amen

Biographie

Teresa D. Hernandez was born in Placentia, CA. She grew up in Salinas, CA. After meeting the love of her life: Aurelio “Willie” Hernandez they settled down in San Diego, CA. Together, they created a wonderful life with their four beloved children, Tudy, Elsa, Martha and Toby Hernandez. Through her life she was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was a woman of strong Catholic faith who found happiness and strength through prayer. Even as a little girl her connection to the holy spirit was strong, and it showed with her admiration of white doves. She will always be remembered by her beautiful smile, her sweet spirit, and her loving heart. Known as “Teddy” to many; “Mom”, “Grandma” and “Grammita” by few, she was an Angel on Earth for us and she will forever be in our hearts.
