

Virgilio was born on June 29, 1937 in the Philippines. He was the son of Guillermo and Encarnacion Perez. Virgilio grew up in Philippines together with five siblings, Efren, Gerardo, Nora, Felicidad y Erlinda. He was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings sharing many life experiences over the years. He graduated from Narotas High School and moved on to pursue higher education, attending Far Eastern University.
On December 17, 1961 Virgilio lovingly exchanged wedding vows with Violeta Fernandez in Manila, Philippines. Virgilio and Violeta were blessed with three children, one son, Josefino, and two daughters, Joyce and Jindy. Empathic and loyal, Virgilio worked hard to be both a good husband and father and he did his best to fulfill his family’s needs.
Another blessing for Virgilio was the gift of six grandchildren, Jinnell, Christa, Ronnell, Erick, Nica and Raeni. Virgilio was a loving grandfather to all his grandchildren.
Fortunately, Virgilio enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Virgilio worked diligently and did his best to succeed. His career occupations during his life included working at BF Goodrich as a Supervisor in Manila Philippines and later in the Merchant Marine of the United States Navy where Virgilio served the United States Navy MSC Atlantic.
Virgilio enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were watching movies and fixing cars. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Virgilio passed away on January 13, 2012 at in San Diego, California due to cardiac arrest. He is survived by his wife Violeta F. Perez, his children Josefino F. Perez, Joyce P. Simon, Jindy P. Cuison and his grandchildren. Services were held at The Little Chapel of the Roses in Bonita, California. Virgilio was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
Simply stated, Virgilio was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Virgilio leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Virgilio I. Perez.
