Born on May 15, 1935, in Booneville, Mississippi, to Vance and Pearl Rampley, Ann was a loving, generous person who always looked after her family and friends. Her early years in Booneville saw her graduate from Thrasher High School, after which she ventured to Memphis, where she became a familiar and friendly face waitressing at Pappy & Jimmy's.
In Ann's retirement, she was a constant presence at Yorkshire Laundry, where she and her dear friend Layne shared countless hours. Her love for the simple pleasures—like the hunt for the perfect tomato at local farmer's markets and roadside stands, or the best possible deal at the latest Dillard's sale—never waned. Her generous spirit shone brightest when she shared her finds, often with the price tags still affixed, bringing joy to others through her thoughtful gifts.
Ann is survived by her sister, Jo Ella McKewen of Dayton, Texas; nieces, Elaina Glover of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Vickie Lamb of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Charlotte Roper and Debbie Gann of Booneville, MS; nephew, Beau McKewen of Dayton, Texas; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a cherished lineage of great-nieces/nephews and great-great-nieces/nephews. Ann's memory will also be treasured by her chosen family: Layne Bennett, Sonya Emerson, Diane Emerson, Scooter Emerson, Kyle Emerson, Joel Emerson, Geno Emerson, and Toni Cattaneo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Carroll Rampley and Jerry Rampley.
A funeral service for Ann will be held on Saturday, November 11, at 2:00 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home, Booneville, MS. A viewing will take place at the same location beginning at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
