Dorothy Johnson Johnson Palmer

Dorothy Johnson Palmer, 85, died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born October 21, 1925 in Rienzi to the late Wesley and Maudie Morgan Johnson. She was a retired factory worker and a member of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and yard work.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Cecil Woodruff officiating assisted by Elder Steve Leggett. Burial will be in the Sardis Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Cary) Rinehart of Rienzi; two grandchildren, Tracy (Richard) Smith and Blake (April) Rinehart; five great-grandchildren, Josh Wheeler, Erin Wheeler, Kaitlin Rinehart, Madelyn Smith and Seth Floyd.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Presley Ray Palmer; one sister, Inez Mills; five brothers, Guy Johnson, Manuel Johnson, Dennis Johnson, Arlen Johnson and Herman Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Pete Perry, Rickey Perry, L. D. “Bud” Cox, J. W. Mills, Doug Johnson, Billy Johnson and George “Bill” Rinehart.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and until noon Tuesday at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church beginning at 1:00 pm Tuesday.
