Frances "Nuby" Mavoline Moore

Frances Mavoline “Nuby” Moore, 89, of Marietta, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the Tishomingo Living Center in Iuka. She was a member of the West Booneville Church of Christ. She was a teacher’s assistant and bus driver for the Prentiss County Child Development before retiring. She loved gardening, her flowers which she was very passionate about, watching NBA, college and high school basketball, playing Rook, cooking especially homemade biscuits, chocolate gravy and coconut cake, but her favorite hobby was mowing her yard where she spent numerous hours.

A Celebration of life will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at McMillan Funeral Home with Minister Tony Brown Officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 1, 2023 at the funeral Home.

She is survived by her children, Eddie Moore (Donna), Phillip Moore (Barbara), Mitzi Jumper (Art), Rodney Moore (Debbie), Scotty Moore (Lori) and Melissa Burns (Ronald); Her grandchildren, Andrea Shapley (Derreck), Chris Moore (Melonie), Kellie Crabb (Jeremy), Doug Jumper (Saray), Mary Alice Carpenter (Kyle), Will Moore (Lacy), Kindra Shadburn (Chris), Aaron Moore, Beau Burns (Brittany) and Clint Burns (Darbi); 12 great-grandchildren; her brother, Terry Murphy (Linda) and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents William Troy Murphy and Lela Hunkapiller Murphy; her step mother, Lorene Murphy; Her husband, Hugh Edward Moore, Sr.; her brothers, Wayne Murphy and Jerry Murphy; her sisters, Helen Jones, Jeanette Hooser, and Elizabeth Glaspie; and one great-grandson, Mason Keith Burns.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Zion Rest Cemetery.
