

Jerry Wayne “Goat” Gann, 71, of Rienzi, MS passed away Friday June 10, 2016 at NMMC in Tupelo after an illness due to complications from an injury he received on Jan. 27, 2015. He was born April 11, 1945 to Ellis and Elsie Gann. He was a Truck Driver for 48 years hauling cars and van freight. He enjoyed his life Trucking up and down the interstates and two-lane roads all across America, jammin' gears to some of his favorite tunes like Johnny Cash and keying up his CB Radio and blarring them and getting a big 10-4, he enjoyed his time off at home with his family, watching and listening to NASCAR, mowing, catching up on his sleep he had lost, and playing with his little Boston Buddies through the years. He was a loving husband for 51 years and the best Daddy a son could have, a humble, quite, easy-going person. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Faith.
A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday June 12, 2016 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Dewayne Morgan officiating. Visitation will continue up until service time. Burial will be held at Sumner’s Chapel Cemetery in East Marietta.
He is survived by his wife Shirley E. Warren Gann; his son, Mark (Michelle) Gann; Grandson, Chance George & Lauren; great-granddaughter, Chaislyn Paige George; his special little Boston buddy, Ryan Chase; sister, Joyce (Jim) Walthers, sisters-in-law, Delene Gann, Lana Warren, and Nancy (Mike) Marshman; brothers-in-law, Jerry Les Warren, Danny Ray Warren, and Jimmy Vaughn Woodard; nieces/nephews include, Bobbie McKim, Carolyn(Jerry) Cox, Charlotte (Mark) McAnally, Donald Gann, April (Lance) McCuller, Vaughn Woodard & his special friend Lori Wicketts, Karen (Mike) Nissen, Brad (Barbara) Woodard, Bill Warren, Trent (Tiffany) Warren, Grant Warren, Regina Warren, Michael E. (Kayla) Marshman, Jessica Marshman Aubut; a host of great-nieces & great-nephews; and our special friend Paula Reynolds.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Ellis & Elsie Gann; grandson, Jared Wayne Gann; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Will Clark, Mr. & Mrs. Lonnie Gann; brother, Quindon Gann; father-in-law, Les Warren; mother-in-law, Harweda Tynes Warren & her husband Odel Smith; sisters-in-law, Betty Gray Warren and Glendora Warren Woodard; brothers-in-law, Mike Warren and Gayle Warren; nephews, Eddie Dale Woodard and Mickey Ray Warren; and his special Boston buddies, Truxs & Kohlton Cash.
