

Joseph Britnell Hill, Sr., 93, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Jackson-Madison Hospital in Jackson, TN. He was born November 16, 1922, to Ben and Elizabeth Britnell Hill. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, a member First United Methodist Church, the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, and the Rotary Club of Booneville, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He served as Prentiss County Welfare Director for several years and formerly was assistant principle at Booneville High School. He enjoyed gardening and deer hunting. He was known for his cedar pencil holders, which he proudly gave away.
A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 29, 2016 at McMillan Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Sisk officiating and Bro. James Strange providing a tribute. Burial with Military Honors will be in Meadow Creek Cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Brit (Kaye) Hill of Jackson, TN; and two grandchildren, Andrew Hill and Kate Hill, both of Nashville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Faye Moreland Hill; his parents; five sisters; and two brothers.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Wesley Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
