Kathleen Sheppard

Kathleen Sheppard, 93, passed quietly to her eternal rest Sunday morning, June 19, 2016, at the home of her caregiver, constant companion, and friend Joanna Lowery in Tishomingo. She was married to Robert Ellis Sheppard for 67 years and was preceded in death by him in 2008. They were lifelong residents of the Jackson Camp/Burton community.

Kathleen was a retired cafeteria worker where she served the children of Tishomingo School for over 20 years. She was born November 11, 1922 to Bruce and Ada Gilley Wilson. She was affectionately known as Ma Sheppard by her grandchildren and by Aunt Kat by her many nieces and nephews

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Robby Crane officiating. Burial will be in Allen Line Cemetery.

She is survived by three sons, Tommy (Bettie) Sheppard of Burton, Jesse (Patsy) Sheppard of Tishomingo, and Joe (Debra) Sheppard of Walnut; one sister, Moveline Taylor of Booneville; seven grandchildren, Bruce Sheppard, Pamela Perrigo, Teresa Sheppard, Lance Sheppard, Rev. Tommy D. Sheppard, Jon Sheppard, and Rebekah Ray; sixteen great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and a host of step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Irene Denson; and two brothers, Earl and James Arthur Wilson.

Visitation will be 5-9pm on Monday, June 20, 2016 and until service time on Tuesday at McMillan Funeral Home.
