

Mary Agnes Tucker Greenhaw, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother departed this life to her eternal home on September 7, 2013. She was born on Christmas Day, 1920, to Murdock and Sallie McGee Tucker. She married Carl Woodrow Greenhaw in 1938, and then enjoyed a marriage of devotion to each other until his death in 2002. She attended a variety of schools and graduated from Shannon High School, where she was the valedictorian of her graduating class.
For over 40 years, she and her husband owned and operated Frankstown Grocery in Frankstown until their retirement. Having lived most of her adult life in Wheeler, she and her husband and her sister, Laura Mathis, moved to Booneville in 1997. While living in Wheeler she was a member of Wheeler Baptist Church, and after moving to Booneville, she became a member of Booneville First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Golden Rule Sunday School Class. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards with her card group, and spending time with her family. She was a woman of great faith, great humor, and great dignity and grace. After moving to Booneville she enjoyed many new friends and neighbors. Her faith was strong and was evidenced in everything she did.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Laura Mathis, and her husband, Bill; and her brother, Heslep Tucker, and his wife, Mary. She is survived by her three children: Carolyn Long (Dr. James Stanley) of Booneville, Stephen (Cynthia) Greenhaw
of Amory, and Dr. David (Beverly) Greenhaw of Booneville. Also surviving her are nine grandchildren: Cliff (Gerry) Long of Olive Branch, MS; Julie (Jay) Cothren of Collierville, TN; Susan (Mike) Cristo of Booneville; Nancy (Rodney) Crouch of Amory; Blake (Leigh) Greenhaw of Trussville, AL; Jennifer (Drew) Love of Tupelo; Bart (Anita) Greenhaw of Saltillo; Leigh (Chad) Smith of Covington, TN; and Dr. Brad (Ashleigh) Greenhaw of Charleston, S.C. She is survived by twenty great-grandchildren, all who loved their MamMaw very much: Megan (Phillip) Chapman, Drew (Carmen Wallace) Cristo, Lindsay Long, James Long, Abby Long, Corbin Cothren, Aidan Cothren, Madison Crouch, Riley Crouch, Meredith Crouch, Olivia Love, Emerson Love, Mallory Love, Morgan Greenhaw, Griffin Greenhaw, Maddie Smith, Benjamin Smith, Christopher Smith, Landry Greenhaw, and Sophie Greenhaw. She also leaves a special niece, Kathryn (Joe) Justice of Loganville, GA; a special nephew, John (Sandra) Tucker of Starkville, MS; a special cousin, Dr. George Jones of Baton Rouge, LA; and a host of friends she had accumulated through her almost 93 years of living here on this earth.
Services will be at 2pm on Monday, September 9, at McMillan Funeral Home with Dr. Lynn Jones and Rev. Jason Dukes officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5pm to 8pm and on Monday from 12pm until service time.
