Maxine Bearden

Maxine Bearden, 82, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Darlington Oaks in Verona. She was born June 23, 1931, to Charlie and Lizzy Williams Yarber. She was a waitress and homemaker. She was a member of Prospect Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, reading, spending time with her grandchildren, writing and reading to children in kindergarten. She was a spiritual person, and read her Bible and talked to others about spiritual matters.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Hamblin officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Wright and Patricia (Malcolm) Tucker, both of Booneville; one son, Gary (Frances) Bearden of Mantachie; one sister, Mary Nell Martin of Ellettsville, IN; one brother, Thomas (Brenda) Yarber of Booneville; six grandchildren, Alex Schiel, Eric (Debbie) Schiel, Joshua Bearden, Jessie (Will) Tomlinson, Jacob (Melody) Tucker and Daniel Tucker; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded by her husband of 49 years, Henry Clay Bearden; her parents; a granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Schiel; and a sister, Louise Hall.

Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
