

Nora Ellen Smith Gault went to her eternal home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, February 26, 2011, in Columbus, Georgia. Mrs. Gault was born on February 9, 1925, in Prentiss County to the late Wallace and Ova Smith. With the exception of her last fifteen months residing in Columbus, Georgia, she resided in Booneville, Mississippi.
An active member of First Baptist Church in Booneville, Nora enjoyed her Friendship Sunday School Class and the Joy Makers, as well as crocheting, quilting and gardening.
Mrs. Gault was employed by Fred’s, Inc., for more than forty years, where her devotion and expertise were appreciated by the Booneville customers, as well as her fellow employees.
The service will be held at McMillian Funeral Home on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation prior to the service beginning at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow immediately after the service in the Booneville Cemetery. Dr. Lynn Jones, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will lead the memorial service.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gault was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Gault; two sisters, Ema Lois Smith and Ernie Bell Johnson; three brothers, Arvil Smith, J. T. Smith and Buster Smith; and, son-in-law, Charlton W. White.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Peggy G. White of Columbus, GA; one son, J. Dale Gault (Audrey) of Mountain View, AR; five grandchildren, Ginger Surprise (Kyle), Heidi White, Timothy White (Lindsey), all of Columbus, GA; Jackie Thompson (Keith) of Florence, MS; Stephanie Albarez (Randy) of St. Francisville, LA; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Bill Smith, Bill Caver, David Kellum, David West, Dewell Smith and Josh Tolar.
Honorary pallbearers are the Friendship Sunday School Class and the Joy Makers.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, 401 W. Church Street, Booneville, MS 38829.
