Sadie P. Davis

Sadie Davis, 93, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was born September 13, 1918 to Luther Goodrum and Rilla Lacefield. She was a homemaker, a retired bookkeeper, baby sitter, and also worked at Brown Shoe Company. She was the last charter member of Wheeler Church of God. She enjoyed working in the yard, going to church, and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 8, 2012 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. James Strange and Bro. Kevin Balis officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Memorial Park.

She is survived by two daughters, Jo (Bro. Allen) Johnson of Booneville and Jane Gambill of Gulfport; two stepdaughters, Era (Mike) Knight of Rienzi and Jimmie Holder of Wheeler; six grandchildren, Bruce, Amelia and Matthew Johnson, Ladonna Smith, Melinda Walton, and Luke Gambill; and thirteen grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Luther Peak and 2nd husband Jim Davis; her parents, three sisters, Rosa Borden, Annie Cartwright, and Nellie Jernigan; three brothers, Clarence, Lonnie, Arnold Goodrum.

Visitation will be from 5-9 pm on Saturday, July 7, 2012 and until service time on Sunday at McMillan Funeral Home.
