

Wallace Davis, 83, of Booneville died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Scott-Del Cottage Assistant Living in Booneville. He was born March 1, 1929 to Ray and Vinnie Smith Davis. He was a member of Wheeler Baptist Church and a Mason. He retired from the Mississippi Highway Patrol, was a former Prentiss County Sheriff, a farmer, and the former owner of Davis Welding & Mechanical Shop.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, May 31, 2012 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by one daughter, Martha Nell (Rick) McKee of Sumner, TX; two sons, Bud (Evelyn) Davis and Jimmy (Mary Beth) Davis both of Booneville; one sister, Joyce Kimbrough of Baldwyn; two brothers, J.P. Davis of Baldwyn and Billy (Doris) Davis of Guntown; seven grandchildren, Rex McKee, Jennifer Knowles, Kayce Hale, Eric Davis, Derick Davis, Ray Davis, and Robert Davis; sixteen great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Charlotte Davis of Baldwyn; two brother-inlaws, Tony (Shirley) Franks of Winona and Joe (Linda) Franks of Tupelo; two special care givers, Stella Holland, Ollie Bean, and Sadie Leach.
Preceded in death by his wife, Martha Franks Davis; his parents; one sister, Edith Cruse; one brother, Gayle Davis; two sister-in-laws, Zelia Davis and Yvonne Davis; two brother-in-laws, Billy Kimbrough and Gene Cruse; one special nephew, Kip Davis.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Wednesday and until service time on Thursday.
