CHAN, Chu, age 80 of Boston, MA, was taken away by cancer on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Chu was a native of Taishan where he was born and raised. At the young age of 12, he asked his mother for permission to seek out his father, Wah Sau Chan, who held a job in a factory in Hong Kong. On his own, with a train ticket, Chu finds his way to Hong Kong, the city where he later finds his love, got married and started a family.
At the age of 50, Chu immigrated to the United States with his father, wife and two children and has resided in Boston, MA ever since. A giving father and husband, we will always remember his adventurous past, his easygoing personality and his mellow, undemanding presence.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, December 22 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Boston Harborside Home of J.S. Waterman & Sons-Waring-Langone, 580 Commercial Street, Boston. Funeral service starts at 1:00 PM on the same day followed by a procession to Central Cemetery in Randolph, MA.
