Clifton was born on March 19, 1950, in Masardis, Maine. He served in the Marine Corps. He was a hard worker and enjoyed working outdoors doing construction, having worked for Bougie and Labbe Contractor and Moore's Marine Construction for many years.
Very proud of his Maine heritage, Clifton traveled back "home" frequently where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and visiting his family. Clifton was a caring individual who enjoyed helping others; whether by doing projects, offering a helping hand, or by providing support. In his retirement, he enjoyed listening to music, playing games on his computer, and spending time with his daughter, granddaughter, and great-grandson in their NH home; where he lived the final years of his life, as well as watching his great-grandson play baseball.
Clifton will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind; his daughter, Diana Dubay, granddaughter, Elizabeth Dubay, great grandson, Ayden Dubay, his grandchildren Stephanie and Robert MacDonald Jr. and their children, as well as his two brothers; Doug and Clark MacDonald, his two sisters; Evelyn Klecman and Anna Vinickas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life, honoring Clifton MacDonald will be held at a later date.
