Fred Anzalone passed away on December 16, 2021 with his daughter Lisa, by his side. Fred was born in Montefalcione, Italy and was the son of Raffaele and Aurelia Anzalone. He came to the United States when he was five years old and like many Italian immigrants, made his way from Ellis Island to the North End of Boston, where he lived for many years. He was not an educated man, but liked to say he had been to the “school of hard knocks” and enjoyed a successful career in sales. He was a fun-loving guy who appreciated being the center of attention, telling jokes and taking photos. He always took pride in the car he drove. Often, he could be seen breaking in to a jitterbug with his late wife Phyllis, with whom he was married for 68 years and he adored talking about his daughter, who always called him her #1 Dad. He loved Boston, the Red Sox and Fenway Park, Christmas, St. Anthony’s feast and being with family and friends. He will be missed by all he touched in his life of 91 years. Fred is survived by his daughter Lisa and her husband Marco, brother-in-law Carmen and his wife Jane, sister-in-law Marie, nieces Susan, Maria, Judy and Joan; nephews Stephen, Christopher and Gian, and many dear friends with whom he grew up in the North End of Boston. Services will be private.
