Johanna was born August 1, 1965 in New York City where she resided until moving to Boston in 1981. Her love of travel took her to many diverse destinations, however, she always considered Boston her true home. This life choice yielded her most treasured reward when she met, and then happily married, her soul mate earlier this year.
As a consummate food and wine connoisseur, her expertise played an integral part in the success of some of the top restaurants in the city. She served her community through many passions, including creating the Put a Cork on Cancer Charity Fund. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and was an avid Boston sports fan. She will always be remembered as a creative, effervescent being whose smile and laughter was contagious to anyone who had the good fortune to meet her.
In addition to her husband, Johanna is survived by her brother, Jordan Redner, his wife Mary, their son Lucas of California, and several dear aunts, uncles and cousins. She leaves her Godparents, Angelo Grasso of Boston and Stephanie Chioffi of Everett, dear friend Tracy Cronin of Boston, her in-laws, James and Diane Repucci of Dedham, Michael and Tara Repucci of Sherbourne, Stephen and Lindsay Repucci of Wakefield, Lisa Repucci of Norwood, and six nieces and nephews. Johanna is predeceased by her mother, Mimi Leverde.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 25 in St. Cecilia’s Church, 18 Belvidere St. in Back Bay, Boston at 11am. Friends may call Sunday, November 24 from 2-6 p.m. at Boston Harborside Home, 580 Commercial St., Boston.
