I had many a laugh from Mark's dry wit as we chatted up our respective experiences both at work and up in the White Mountains.  

I will miss his presence at work -- but I'm sure it will be felt on my runs at Cannon.

Mark was a friend for more than 20 years.  He was a key part of our wonderful biking crew in the 90's, most of whom have remained close friends ever since.  He maintained long-term friendships in many communities, including biking, skiing, his professional world, his neighborhood(s), and family.  Mark was truly one-of-a-kind.  We immediately named him Marky-Mark, and although I doubt he'd admit it, I'm sure he secretly liked it.  Like the more famous MM (who was just becoming a big star when we all met Mark), he projected a tough exterior, but could be a very sweet guy when you got past the pose.  As an athlete and adventurer, and as someone who faced and overcame many challenges in his life, he was an inspiration to me and to many who knew him.  In 2003 when Jerry & I moved back to Boston after several years away, Mark was making the decision to return to the city from his time living at Sugar Hill.  He stayed with us in Jamaica Plain, initially for a few weeks while he explored work and housing options; he ended up being our housemate and live-in pal for almost two years.  In the years since, he was always a generous host on Streeter Pond, a steady, willing and extremely able hiking/biking companion, and it was always fun to catch up with him and Chris in Boston or Marblehead.  We were so happy that he and Chris found each other; it seemed that both his home life and his work life had found a happy equilibrium.  To Chris and to Mark's family, we share your sorrow.  We'll miss Mark and never forget him.

This is very sad news.  I had the pleasure of meeting Mark while working a project with CoMA.  I pray for peace and comfort for his family and loved ones.

I'm so sorry to hear that we have lost Mark. What a delightful man! He added so much to the year I spent at CoMA, always noticing if you were eating lunch alone, always getting the joke, and always lightening the stressful moments with that quick wit.

Streeter Pond will miss you! We have many happy memories that we'll keep in our hearts. Our sincere condolences to Mark's family and Chris.

I am still getting over the shock of Mark not here.  We had a great lunch this summer - he, me and Sharon - lots of laughs and honest conversation. We  talked about the possibility of working together soon again. He was crusty for sure - as am I at times - and it took a while for us to be friends but so worth it. I will miss you my dear friend.

Mark Legere was hard working, charitable, at times serious, often charming, and side-splitting tears-in-your-eyes funny whenever he choose.  I remain sad since hearing the news and have prayed for each of you. I enjoyed working with Mark at two companies and we chatted long afterwards about our most difficult projects. We enjoyed our catch-up conversations and last spoke on 10/16. It was so great to hear his voice and receive that special perspective. He's someone I will miss.

I don't know where to begin, there is so much to mention as Mark was a true inspiration to many to include myself,  introducing me to his wonderful circle of friends, getting me involved with the ski club and inspired me to do the ride to Provincetown which was a great achievement.  He was a fantastic training coach!   There really was nothing that Mark could not do and never complained about difficult physical and mental work, always brushing it off as a challenge and tackeling it head on.   He had a great spirit and dry sense of humor which came through even during his stubborness, making many laugh and smile.   Mark will be missed by many.  As Mark used to say, "It is what it is" and he lived by those words on many occasion and those words make a lot of basic sense.  Thank you Mark for being part of my life.  I will miss you dearly. My deepest condolences to Mark's family- I had the pleasure of skiing and socializing with Mark several times over the past few years- he was a good man.

Mark, I know you are off climbing some wonderful mountain or trekking/biking through a glorious landscape - just as you did when you were with us. I will miss you.

Mark was a wonderful Orne Street neighbor for many years. I will remember him as a kind man who added his own personal touch to our many neighborhood gatherings.  When Mark moved to his new place, I missed seeing him strolling around the neighborhood. Now we will all be missing Mark.

I am deeply saddened by the demise of a great colleague and good friend.   Mark was always kind, a very thoughful gentleman, and is remembered so fondly.   May he rest in eternal peace.   My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Mark was a wonderful person. What you saw was what you got. He was direct, honest and had a great sense of humor. I have many fond memories of him and enjoyed working with him. He will be missed.

Please accept my deepest condolances.  I had the pleasure of working with Mark for a short time at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  I enjoyed getting to know him and will always remember him fondly.

Mark - Fellow Mainer, Marbleheader, lover of the outdoors, always there to help and pitch in as a great friend and neighbor. Orne Street gained a friend the day he moved in. He will be sadly missed. My condolences to Chris, and Mark's family.
