ROBERT (BOB CHARLES) MACMURDO of Boston, at 80, died peacefully March 26. Bob was the beloved and doting husband for thirty-five years of the late Bette Arnold. In the 1970's he helped her run the popular Boston restaurant, "Bette's Rolls-Royce." He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force with the rank of corporal, and was a retired owner of a school bus company. An extraordinarily gifted mechanic, he could repair anything simply by looking at it and taking it apart. He leaves his former wife, Janet (Rubini) MacMurdo and their children, Debora Andrews and husband Robert; Nancy MacMurdo; and Scott MacMurdo and wife Terry; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Bob is remembered fondly by Bette's children, Judith A. Cowin and her husband, William I. Cowin and their children, April Stein and husband Geoff; Jackie Cowin and husband Mark Daniels; and William P. Cowin and wife April and seven great-grandchildren.
