Born August 18th, 1960 the eldest son of Santiago Cervantes Crisostomo, MD and Flordeliza Vicente Crisostomo, MD.
Survived by his younger brother German Crisostomo, MD and his husband Michael Askins, his niece Gabriela Turner Crisostomo (Abby) and his sister in law Stephanie Rudd.
He was born in Boston though most of his childhood was spent in Illinois. Graduating from Lake Forest Academy and then from Drake University with a bachelors in political science. He had worked in retail at various places and then in the financial sector at Putnam investments as well as Bank of Boston. Work, to Chip however, became a vehicle where he could meet, play and socialize with his friends. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of trivia, a gift for languages, and could talk to anyone about most anything and make you feel right at home. Chip had a unique charm warmth and genuineness about him and he was never afraid to speak his mind. It was for these reasons along with his quick wit and sarcastic , outrageous humor that most everyone who’ve had the pleasure of knowing him found him so likeable and endearing
Chip had been stricken early in life at age 42 with a stroke confining him to a wheelchair. But that didn’t keep him from maintaining a positive attitude nor dampen his spirit. He had a deep love for his family, his friends, and his Sigma Chi fraternity brothers, whose loyalty to all of them knew no bounds. Chip relished every opportunity he had to spend time with and share his love for his family and friends. He could often be seen navigating the crowds of Kenmore square in his motorized wheelchair saying hi to everyone whom he met addressing them always by their first name. Chip had a love for life and laughter which was as infectious as his razor sharp wit and sense of humor that was only dampened by the losses of his dear family members, especially and most recently his brother Lenny who predeceased him by just 7 months. Chip has always been the glue that has kept the family connected to the extended family after his mother passed away. He lived with and was his dads daily companion until he passed away in 2018. Chip will always be remembered for his charm, his keen mind, his witty sarcastic and often times irreverent sense of humor. But most of all, for his loving and caring heart!
