

ANNALIESE (ANNE) ROBERTS, long-time Pocasset resident, passed away peacefully at Bourne Manor Extended Care Facility on February 7, 2016, at the age of 86. She was born in Dossenheim, Germany on February 24, 1929, to her now deceased parents, Eva and Joseph Schmich.
Anne arrived at the Port of New York in June 1952 at the age of 23 and became a U.S. citizen in November 1955. She worked in the Finance Department of the Base Exchange at Otis Air National Guard Base (formerly Otis Air Force Base) for over 35 years. Anne was married to Ardus (Robbie) Roberts for 32+ years until his passing in 2009. In addition, Anne was preceded in death by her brothers, Wilhem and Peter Schmich.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Sloot of Cape Canaveral, FL; Patricia Benter of Riverside, CA; and Jacqueline Dooley of Dighton, MA; and her sons, Michael Roberts of Pocasset, MA and Matthew Roberts of Middleboro, MA, along with nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation and service at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne 02532, on Weds., March 30, 2016, with visitation hours from 11:00am. to 12:00pm. and a small service starting at 12:15pm. Anne will be privately interred beside her husband, Robbie, at the Massachusetts National Cemetery (Otis). In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at http://www.alz.org/.
The Roberts Family extends its sincere appreciation to Gwen DeVasto and Lauren Chartier, Anne’s geriatric care managers, for their exceptional care and friendship over the past years. We also want to express our appreciation to the staff at Bourne Manor Extended Care Facility for caring for Anne during her residency.
