Hey lumpy... Wanted to pay a visit. I saw Anthony the other day walking outside the hospital from the window. I knew it was him from a little ways from the entrance leaving there with his "Cape Cod Choppers" T- shirt on his  back. Oh yeah not to mention he's not hard to miss either!.He looked really good getting around! Just thinking about you today and R.I.P.  man...

Rip... Fat man...  Little portugie stopping by to say " What's up papa Smurf!" You are missed by many Bruce. U had lots of great wisdom and Wise cracks to go with it. 👍

Hello Brother, sorry I didn't find you earlier,but You will be missed and when I heard about accident let's just say a chunk of my heart died too.
   You got me out of a dark place and gave me a job,though isolated and dusty with all the filler dust molding your metal artwork, but as a great teacher you changed my life.  We started to hang and had some good times  and then some really good ones not tobe mentioned!
   Well I hope You have the wind in your face and sun at your back, find some good roadways and I'll join you when I can.

Lumpy always treated my family and I with respect. He was a good person,  a TRUE Biker and one hell of a mechanic. I am saddened to hear of his passing. But, I also envision him on a OG Chopper blazing new trails. I met him because he was the person that my father would let work on a bike that went to me. And is now my sons. But, I will remember him for always greeting me with smile and courtesy. 

Walked into the old shop looking for a scooter to buy and Lumpy hooked me up with a  man selling a 58 Duo Glide, he even trailer delivered it to my home. Over the years he did a lot of work for me. At one point I was into him for 1,500 bucks and  he just wanted me to ride and said take  the bike, enjoy and pay me when you got it! He was my first line of credit . Gruff, rough exterior but a heart of gold. I'll never forget the man!! So sorry for the family and friends of this righteous man!

50 years ago I sold Bruce the body shop I owned and he turned it into a motorcycle shop. Bruce was a vey intelligent and kind man. He will be missed. 

Homegrown. That's what he called me. After purchasing a custom bike that had some "Cannabis" logo'd on the gas tank, my new name was "Homegrown".
Great memories of some "Off Color" Conversations.
Moved to San Antonio 6 years ago and ran into some acquaintance's of LUMPY. and Cape Cod Choppers.
RIP my friend.

The first time I walked through the door at Cape Cod Choppers and was greeted with a “What the hell do you want” from behind the counter, I knew I was gonna like this guy! 
Turns out I was right. Just wish I had known him longer.
Rest easy you wonderful grumpy prick! The motorcycle community has lost an Icon.

I have 41 laugh filled memories thanks to Lumpy. He always made me laugh and just always enjoyed our visits. Of course I still don't know if he knew my real name...lmao always with the Stella. Ride high my friend.

Uncle Bruce was always larger than life in my eyes.  My memories are from before he was married and had Tony.  I spent my summers and school vacations on Quaker Lane at Gram and Gramps house.  Uncle had this little tiny bedroom in the  back of the second floor, he always called me 'kid'.  Saturday mornings he would call out Ok kid and I would go running in jump on the bed and we would watch cartoons for hours.  He bought a gold vette, what a beauty she was, he took me everywhere with him in that car, until it was gone. (lol)  I remember CCC Clambakes every summer, bikes everywhere, hundreds of them.  Those were the days.. ..  You will be missed by many Unc.  Ride High.  

Deeply saddened by the passing of Bruce. In the late 70’s I worked at the old shop briefly and to this day I can see the counter in that tight space with Bruce answering the phone “Cape Cod”.  RIP Lumpy

First time I met Lumpy, I walked in his shop needing help with a motorcycle wheel mount.  He and his son dropped what they were doing and spent so much time until it was mounted correctly.  Lumpy gave it to me through the whole process too, man but I deserved it too.  When all was said and done, he charged me a diet soda.  I was to bring him a diet soda the next time I came in. I never forgot that, and I brought him a few more diet sodas over the years and he continued to give me awesome amounts of banter and ego checks.  His mechanical advice and instructions were always correct, helpful and insightful but always coming with an additional something extra.  Gonna miss you Lumpy.

We all share a big loss! Bruce helped me build my chopper in 1972, and we formed a bond that lasted till I moved to CA. I am truly saddened by this tragic event, and I wish that I could have seen him before he went to biker heaven.

We were both heart broken to hear of Bruce's passing.  Sending our deepest sympathy to the family and friends.  Will always treasure the memories of being with Bruce at the shop and some of the good times we had with him at the Rochester farm clambakes.  
He will be truly missed.

I’m Proud to Say that knowing Lumpy was a lot of Fun! He And Anthony helped my racing team out with a lot of items and the obvious, and he never said no, I remember one time I needed a aluminum radiator welded and he said do it yourself and I told him I wasn’t too good with welding aluminum ,he said boy it’s time you learned and let me tell you from that day on I’m so thankful to have learned all the little tricks welding aluminum thanks to Lumpy. Thank you for all your suggestions, laughs, doing shots outback, and most of all your friendship with you and your son. We all are going to miss you and we all love you.

Bruce I'm going to miss you yelling at me when I  would ask you all kinds of questions but you always found the answers. You were so happy with the new shop. The biker community mourns your loss. Rest In Peace and keep a watch on us.

Back in 1988 I bought a 1958 Panhead, which originally pretty much started out as a box or two full of parts with a frame and forks.  I got introduced to Lumpy by Oats Jackson, who's been gone many years now, and Lumpy helped me countless times getting the right parts and getting work done on the bike.  Thoughts, prayers & condolences to his family and friends.

I just want to tell the family especially his son Anthony that I am so sorry for your loss.  Lumpy was a good man, you wouldn't know it at first.  If you walked in his shop you were going to get insulted but that was Lumpy.  My son Ernie called him the Evil Santa, but he did that laughing.  You couldn't help but love the guy.  Lumpy you will always be respected and missed.  

I remember the first time I met lumpy 25 years ago. He first said to me, "what do you want?" So I asked him for some parts. Then he smiled and started to write a list. After spending a few thousand, he Immediately had a liking towards me because me, being 24 at the time, he appreciated that I liked and own a old school bike. We talked for a while and became chummy with him. He used to always take your real name down (if he didn't know you) for listing parts for ordering, and give you a nick name of his own. He used to call me, "little portugie" (because I'm 5'5" and Portuguese) with a stern look and then smile. Thank you Lumpy for working on my bike and for taking my money with a smile! You're a legend and I pray for you and your son Anthony. 🙏 u will be missed and bless your soul. Ride high!

Knew him for ever always had something rude to say to you that because he liked you miss him there will never be anyone like him again  

My deepest condolences to the family of Lumpy. Anthony, you are in my prayers right now.  It is never easy to loose a parent. You and your Dad were always together.  He was so proud of you. 
I pray that you hold on to all your memories and when you are feeling sad remember how much he loved you and how proud he was of you.  God bless you and all that loved Lumpy.  

His greeting was always watered down(a little) whenever I brought my son Jacob to the shop. I'd have to wait while Lumpy let my 5 year old run out back to talk to the Indian bike builder. I wasn't allowed to go out back lol respect!

About a week prior to his passing I was out for a ride and stopped in for a inspection. And before I even asked to have the bike looked at for inspection he greeted me the way he always does I asked for a light bulb because I knew it was out and he gave me a hard time he said what you bring your broken bike here and expect me to fix it and give you a inspection  lol so asked for a bulb and he says you know the other ones on its way out I have to laugh cus no sooner did I get home and the one I didn’t change blew wish  I got back to tell him he was right  ride free lumpy 

I'll never forget the first time meeting him. Always a "nice" greeting every time I went for parts and advice over the years. Me and many of My Brothers will truly miss him.

Rest easyBruce you will be missed so much and Anthony hoping you have a speedy recovery the shop will not be the same with out you Bruce 

Never forget the day in the old shop when sum guy walks in and asked for jap bike parts and lumpy not so nicely told him to get out funny as shit still to this day don’t know if he was joking or not 

When are you going to get that Shit Box out of here, truly going to miss that...RIP Dad.

Bruce and Anthony our more like family to us than someone who works om our bike. Every time we went there he would come out and say o it's just you I though it was a real customer and laugh. We will miss bruce a lot my god keep him and comfort you at this time

The day I met Bruce(Lumpy) my husband then new boyfriend took me to the old Store Lumpy was giving my husband a hard time as he does with all he likes. Turned to me and said hi sweetheart why you with this guy (few other word added)lol. We stopped in many times, Lumpy was like family always loved taking with him and Anthony! Lumpy you will be so missed there will be a big gap in this community!

I will never forget riding around in Uncle Brice's side car to go get grilled cheese rolls on a Tueaday or Ice cream on. Sunday. I can still hear his voice calling me squeaky. Love you uncle.
