

Charles “Ronnie” (Grampy) Tomkinson, 88, of Buzzards Bay died peacefully at home surrounded by his family, Saturday ,June 4, 2011 after a long illness. Born in Quebec, Canada, he served in the US Army during WWII and served in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France & Germany. He enjoyed wood working and fishing. He was a retired meat manager from First National Stores for 41 years and was employed at the I.G.A. in Wareham until retirement.
He is survived by his long time companion Elizabeth Bradley of Buzzards Bay, two sons: Charles and his wife Connie Tomkinson of Lexington, NC and Richard and the late Jane Tomkinson of Onset., a step-son Bruce Bradley of Buzzards Bay and a step daughter Laurie and her husband Frank Sanchez of Buzzards Bay, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step-son David Bradley and a step-daughter Phyllis Bradley Monarch. Visitation will be from 9am until time of services at 11am Saturday at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne. Burial will follow in Agawam Cemetery in Wareham. The family offers a special thanks to granddaughter Jennifer Smith for her constant care during the past year.
