Donna Lee Fisher

Born in York, Pennsylvania on July 16, 1938 she was the daughter of Sterling and Eileen Mitzel. After attending York College and working as an Arthur Murray Dance Instructor, she met her sweetheart, Donald L Fisher, on a blind date. The couple was married on June 21, 1958.

After raising her five children, she worked as a Radiology Receptionist for Montgomery General Hospital and later as a Bank Manager for Citizens Bank of Maryland. She was an active volunteer for her church, local hospital, and American Cancer Society.

With a real zest for life, Donna loved to paint, dance, travel, play Mahjong, Bridge, and board games, shop, chat with friends and family, and spend her summers at Sagamore Beach, Massachusetts. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family.

Donna Fisher was preceded in death by her husband Donald Lockwood Fisher Sr. and granddaughter Ashley Nicole Fisher. She is survived by her sister, Linda Fitz, of York, PA; her children; Dawn Ford and her husband, David, of Silver Spring, MD; Donald Fisher Jr. and his wife, Maureen, of Rockville MD; Deanna Waldron and her husband, Peter, of Sagamore Beach, MA; Darlene Weaver and her husband, Bryan of Morgantown WV; and Denise Wright and her husband, John, of Sagamore Beach, MA; as well as 14 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her stepchildren Scott Fisher and his wife Susan, and their 6 children, of Delaware, OH; Debbie Fisher-Russell and her husband Mark, and their 4 children, of Hollister CA; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne MA, on Monday, July 6 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, at 1:00 p.m. at Swift Memorial Methodist Church, 10 Williston Rd, Sagamore Beach, Massachusetts 02562. Interment is private.
