

Born in Littleton, NC, Doris was the daughter of the late Sandy and Merine (Eaton) Yelity. She has lived in Pocasset since 1975. Being a naturally caring person, Doris worked as a nurses aid in Mashpee for Pilgrims Pride before it closed. Following her employment in Mashpee, Doris continued to care for patients while being employed with JML Care Center in Falmouth.
She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her friends and family, and shopping, especially on Saturday’s with her loving daughter, Cheryl. Doris was a kind, genuine and caring individual who loved helping people. She will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.
In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by her children, Michael D. Jeffers of NC, and Cheryl D. Rambert and husband Tony of Hyannis. Grandchildren, Markus and Monique Jeffers and great-grandchild, Mason Jeffers. Also survived by her sisters, Lillian Turner of VA, Alma Harrison of NC, sister-in-law, Joanna Richardson of PA, mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary B. Jeffers of PA. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting Hours for Mrs. Jeffers will be held on Thursday from 5-7PM in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne. A private burial will take place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial donations to McCarthy Care Center, 73 Service Rd. Sandwich, MA 02563.
