Edith A. Cannato

CANNATO, Edith A. (Gabriele) 97, of Bourne, MA passed away peacefully at Bourne Manor Nursing Home on March 19, 2023. She was born to the late Loreto and Mary (Paulelti) Gabriele in Jamesville, NY on April 30, 1925.

Edith grew up in Harrison, N.Y., attended and graduated from Harrison High School. She met her late husband, Donald A. Cannato, and shared 55 years of marriage. They had two children, Debra Cannato Lowe of Bourne, Ma, Donald Cannato, Jr. and wife Diane Cannato of Palm City, Fl.

Edith enjoyed cooking, volunteering for the Family Pantry and her Parish, line dancing, walking, playing scrabble and spending time with family.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Pilar Bairaktaris, Terese Pacensa, Kristen Cannato, Steven Cannato and her sister Celeste Gabrielle; also 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday March 29th 10am at St. John of the Evangelist Parish, 841 Shore Rd. Pocasset, MA. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery. Visiting Hours are prior from 9:00-9:30am.
