

Elizabeth Ann (Gauthier) Hough has gone home to Our Lord and His Blessed Mother on March 13, 2021
surrounded by her family at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth as a result of COVID-19. She
was born December 9, 1937 to Kathryn and William Gauthier of Weymouth, MA.
Elizabeth graduated from Sacred Heart High School class of 1956. She went on to Quincy City Hospital
School of Nursing class of 1959. Elizabeth worked as a nurse at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, MA. Later
she worked the last twenty years of her nursing career at Upper Cape Technical High School as a school
nurse. Elizabeth was passionate about her career and caring for others.
Elizabeth married the love of her life, Gerald F. Hough, on June 20, 1959. Elizabeth and Gerald were
married for sixty-three wonderful years. They lived in Connecticut and Michigan before they settled in
Buzzards Bay. There, they raised their four children, Deborah (Hough) Golden of Sandwich, MA, wife of
Paul, Gerald Jr., husband of Donna of Brewster, Steven, husband of Michelle of Falmouth, and Kevin,
husband of Lori Beth of Bourne.
Elizabeth’s grandchildren, Dr. Ryan Golden and his wife Dr. Rachel Kossack Golden, Christopher Golden
(deceased), Brianna Golden RN, Jacob Golden, Elliott Hough, Olivia Hough RN, and Griffin Hough were
the joy of her life.
Elizabeth was a devout Catholic who worshiped at St. Margaret’s Parish in Buzzards Bay. She lived a life
of faith and instilled these values in her family. As the family matriarch her greatest accomplishment
was raising her children and grandchildren. Elizabeth will be remembered as a nurse, a friend, a wife, a
mother, a nanna, and a strong elegant woman.
Elizabeth’s family’s hearts will be filled knowing that she is in heaven with her grandson, Christopher.
Per Elizabeth’s, wishes services will be private for the immediate family only. At a later date to be
announced there will be a celebration of Elizabeth’s life.
