Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Francis A. and Margaret A. Walsh.
Frank is survived by his three daughters, Christina Walsh of Lowell, MA, Margaret Walsh of Saugus, MA, and Louise Walsh of Lowell, MA. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Chris Walsh of Saugus, Trevor Kay-Walsh of Lowell, MA, and Caleb Walsh of Lowell, MA. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Loretta A. (Hamlin) Walsh.
Frank also leaves behind his sisters Catherine Walsh of Halifax, MA, Margaret (Margie) Noble and her husband Ed of Virginia Beach, VA, Susan Villa and her husband Dan of Monterey, CA, and Rita O’Brien and her husband Bob of Plymouth, MA, along with many much-loved nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his beloved brothers Donald Walsh and Gerald Walsh, both of Boston, MA.
Aside from his family, Frank’s greatest devotion was to the military. He served for 20 years in the United States Air Force, specializing in Munitions Management. He also had a second career with the US Postal Service and was employed with them for 20 years upon retiring from the Air Force.
Frank was an avid history buff and had a passion for anything related to WWII. He was also a lifelong animal lover, often bringing home strays as a child (much to the chagrin of his mother). He loved the game of baseball, both as a Little League coach and as a devoted fan of his cherished Boston Red Sox.
One of the things that will be missed most was his ability to be a consummate storyteller, relaying countless tales peppered with incredible and fanciful details about memorable events in his life.
He will be forever in our hearts.
His visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA.
