George Alexander Robertson Jr.

Born on June 12, 1929 on Marshall St in Roxbury, he was the son of the late George Sr. and Christina (Thomson) Robertson. George was the brother of the late Ina Lonsdale, Helen O'Neil, Mary Barry, and John and Thomas Robertson. He is survived by his sisters Christina Derby of CA, Isabelle Gassett of Halifax, and Margaret Pearson of Swampscott. George is also survived by his children Douglas of Milford, Lorraine Yau of Pembroke, Mark and his wife Karen of Voorhesville NY and Dyan Nessralla and her husband Abdu of Plympton, and, of course, his greatest treasure, his 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

George had great community spirit and showed this through his volunteer efforts in youth sports and PTA while living in Hanson. George lived for the past 40 years in Marshfield where he worked as a maintenance supervisor at Winslow Village. He retired in 2005, and was able to enjoy traveling with his companion Rosemary Kaligian, and spending time with his grandchildren. With gratitude and humility, the family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at SSH, especially the dialysis team for the support and care they gave George. He was very much loved.

There will be a celebration of George's life on May 19, 2012 at the Winslow Village Community Center, 1554 Ocean St, Marshfield MA from 2-4 pm. All are welcome.
