James Francis Simpson passed on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. He was an extraordinary human being. His warm heart touched everyone around him. He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. His father, Joseph, also served in the Army and both him and his wife, Irene, were loving parents to Jimmy, who are both now deceased. He has one brother still alive, Ronnie Simpson, and one deceased, Gary Simpson.
He leaves behind his son, James Brown, his daughter, Angela Simpson and her partner, Jason Kemper, his son, David Simpson and his wife, Mary Simpson, and grandchildren, Dyllon, Camren, Ejay, Hannah, Camilla, Elijah, Noah, Ariel, Violet, Lilly, and Rose.
Jimmy was a musician from the very start. If he did not have his children Jimmy, Angela, and David, he would have been famous. He once opened for Aerosmith right before their fame. To everyone he knew, he was locally famous. He began as a full-time musician, and as a part-time musician as he served our country. He became a disabled veteran, worked at the Steamship Authority, and later became an exterminator at A1 Exterminators where he later retired.
The way that he played the guitar and the sound of his voice when he sang touched everyone that heard him. He was the best dad that there was. He would do anything for his kids; they meant the world to him. He was also a proud Grampy. Towards the end of his time here on Earth, he moved to Wisconsin where he found God and was baptized at Borean Baptist Church. He remained a member at the church until the very end. He was in several bands, including Future Rumor, The Emerald City Band, Spankin Sally, Spur of the Moment Productions, Solo Acts, and finally his last band, Tuned Up with Jules and Jimmy in Galesville, WI.
Jimmy positively impacted everyone he encountered. May the Lord bless his soul and watch over all his family and loved ones. Jimmy is now resting in Heavenly peace. His son, David, was moving him back to live with him and was in a tragic car accident in Pennsylvania. He miraculously survived as he had nine lives. Shortly thereafter, he suffered a heart attack which he did not survive. Now he is with the King of Kings in Heaven watching down on us all. Here in Massachusetts, he had attended Temple Baptist Church and was going to make this his new church. His children are proud members of their church.
There is going to be a burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA 02532, on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 2 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at Temple Baptist Church at 540 Manley St, West Bridgewater, MA 02379, from 4:30-7:30 pm. He would want you all to be there if possible.
