Joan Alice McCusker

McCusker, Joan Alice (Mac Issac) 84, of Plymouth, Ma formerly of Dedham, Ma. Passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth on July 9, 2023. She was born in Dedham, Ma to the late Joseph Charles and Minnie Melissa Mac Issac (McDonald) on December 27, 1938. She is survived by her sister Jean Shea and preceded in passing by her brother Scott and sister Isabel.

Joan grew up in Dedham and graduated from Dedham High school. She was active in her churches (the federated church of Norfolk and Swift Memorial in Sagamore Beach she loved her churches, and they were a big part of her life). Joan loved football! So much so that she was a nanny to many of the New England Patriots over the years. These past 8 years she has enjoyed her time with the Plymouth Commons Community. She loved her grandkids and great grandkids very much and they will miss her.

She is preceded in passing by the love of her life James Joseph McCusker, Jr. in July 2018 they shared 62 years of marriage. She is survived by their four children; James Douglas ‘Doug’ McCusker and wife Susan their children; Mike Shawn, Brian, John, Matt, and Nick of Weymouth, Debra Lee (McCusker) Colella and husband Vincent, and son Robert Mancini of Sugar Hill, NH and daughter Tiffany of Lawndale, NC, Dennis Paul McCusker and wife Belinda and daughters Laura, and Leah of Youngsville NC, and Denise Marie McCusker and son Cody of Bourne, MA. And 13 Great-Grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday August 26, 2023 at 11:00 am, Swift Memorial United Methodist Church, 10 Williston Rd. Sagamore Beach, MA. Burial will be held on Monday August 28th at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave. Bourne, Ma at 10:15am.

In Lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Joan may be sent to the Swift Memorial Church Mission Fund.
