

John Kevin Payton, a beloved and kind-hearted resident of Bourne, Massachusetts, passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 80. Born in Brockton, Massachusetts on March 22, 1945, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Helen E. Payton (Burke).
John, a gentle and compassionate soul, graduated from Monsignor Coyle High School in Taunton, class of 1964. He was a hard-working and honest man who built a career as a master electrician. His professional journey included roles as an electrical inspector for the City of Brockton, a position with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Fire Services, and work at Intertek ETL Testing Laboratory in the electric field.
His passions included fly fishing and canning homemade jams, jellies, and relishes. Above all, his pride and joy were his grandchildren, Kenzie and Johnny.
John is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Frances A. Payton (DiCicco), his son Shawn and fiancée Linda Harper of Walpole, Massachusetts, his daughter Colleen and husband Matthew Mullen of Norwell, Massachusetts, and his cherished grandchildren Makenzie and John Mullen. He is also survived by his brothers, Henry Payton of East Bridgewater and Arthur Payton of New York, and his sisters, Noreen DeRito of Bridgewater and Sheila Payton of Bourne.
