Joe was honorably discharged from the USN in 1945 and shortly after that he met the love of his life, Sally. They raised their family in Sandwich. In 1971 Joe and Sally opened Falmouth Lighting Center and Electrical Supply. They operated it until Joe retired in 1989.
In his retirement he enjoyed travel, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. Many of who will forever remember great times going to the dump, fish hatchery, and Sandy Neck.
In his later years a perfect day was to sit on his deck reading poetry, watching Laura swim with her children and grandsons, and drinking sun tea. That perfect day would end with a cookout of corn on the cob and hot dogs.
He will be greatly missed by all who loved or knew him.
