

Kent G. Walter, son of Charles and Evelyn Walter Jr, passed away unexpectedly on the afternoon of September 18, 2025 at the age of 80. Born in Boston, MA, Kent attended Hyde Park High School before entering the army and serving in Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Arlington American Legion Post 0039. Kent was fortunate to retire after a long career working at New England Life Insurance Company, (Metlife).
A chance encounter at a wedding led Kent to meeting Sally. Married for over 55 years, they built a life of love and happiness together, first living in Arlington, MA, then in retirement, moving to Cape Cod. As a dad, Kent instilled in his son Keith the values of patience, discipline and determination. Kent enjoyed cars, bowling and playing cards. Most of all, fishing was his passion. Throughout his life, Kent fished from the Caribbean to the canyons off the coast of Cape Cod. Kent would always be one to share moments of fun and joy at any gathering. Quick to pour a drink or offer a conversation, Kent’s personality was always warm and friendly. Kent was blessed with numerous friendships that spanned decades, across many social circles.
Kent is survived by his loving wife Sally, his son Keith, his brother Alan, and an extended family of cousins.
Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend a burial service at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
