

Lt. Colonel Marc Raymond Marchesseault (1946-2025) died on April 27 at his TN home with family at his side. He was a graduate of Wayne High School (NJ) and New Jersey Institute of Technology. He entered the Air Force Squadron Officer School in 1968 and received a commission as a Second Lieutenant in June 1969. Marc spent the next 21 years serving his country in many different capacities.
Colonel Marchesseault earned his pilot wings in 1969 and completed his training as a pilot instructor. During his military career, Marc held a variety of instruction, combat, and administrative assignments at bases across the continental USA, Thailand and Hawaii. In 1972, Marc was assigned to the 56th Special Operations Wing in Thailand where he accumulated 365 combat support hours flying missions in Laos and Cambodia. Marc closed out his career in 1990 as Deputy Chief of Staff for Pacific Air Force Operations at Hickam AFB, Hawaii.
Colonel Marchesseault was a command pilot with nearly 4000 hours flying time in various military aircraft. Marc’s military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Air Medal with six oak leaf clusters, and the Air Force Commendation Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters.
Following the Vietnam War in 1975, Marc participated in the Southeast Asia refugee relocation effort, sponsoring nineteen individuals and facilitating their housing, employment, and medical care in the USA. In 2012, Marc was named Man of the Year for his long-term service on 6 community boards in Big Spring, TX.
Marc was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Vivien (Harrington) Marchesseault and is survived by his sister, Julie Holzer (husband Kenneth, predeceased in 2016), and brother Guy Marchesseault and his wife, Leslie. Marc is also survived by four nephews and their families, Craig and Megan Holzer and children Katie and Will; Guy and Mary Holzer and daughter Avery; Kyle Marchesseault and Marisa Howe, and children Eleanor and Tyler; and Andrew and Analiese Marchesseault and children Johann, Lawrence, and Mona.
Marc will be buried at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
