Margaret Ida Brink Vogel, also known as ‘Peggy’, passed away on January 6, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on July 14, 1933, in Raymond, South Dakota, she was part of a large family. Peggy always enjoyed family get togethers as well as hosting parties with her many friends. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, spending time on their boat and time with her golden retrievers.
Peggy was a resident of both Wareham and Bourne, Massachusetts. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald E. Vogel. She was predeceased by her parents, Leslie George Brink and Vera M. (Norton), as well as her stepchildren, Kenneth Vogel and Beverly Lawrence. Her brothers, Thomas Brink and Robert Brink, and her sisters, Esther Thompson, Darlene Jabbora, Donna Parkes, and Karen Dollemore, two nieces, four nephews and a grandniece and nephew also predeceased her.
She is survived by her sister Kay Hodge of Appleton, Minnesota, stepson Ronald Vogel and daughter of CA; stepdaughter-in-law Erlene Vogel, her son Chris Pratt and one granddaughter of PA; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. She is also survived by her special friends Sue and Charles Soule, their daughter Jennifer, her husband Adam and their two children of Carver, MA.
Peggy graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor's degree in education. She dedicated her career to teaching, working in Las Vegas, Nevada; Memphis, Tennessee; Holly Springs, Mississippi and Wareham, MA. After teaching she worked as an Administrative Assistant for Springborn in Wareham, MA where she met many of her friends.
Peggy and Don enjoyed 26 years together in the Wareham area until Don’s passing in 2003. Never one to shy away from hosting a party, Peggy loved her martinis and having an “old ladies party” that was filled with so much laughter. Peggy made numerous lifelong friends in the Wareham area, including Beth Goodhue and Diana, who predeceased her. But of special notice is Sue Soule who not only was her best friend but helped take care of Peggy during her time at Bourne Manor. You are the best, Sue, and Peggy’s family appreciates all that you and your family did for our Aunt Peggy. We also thank Bourne Manor for their care these past few years.
From her surviving sister and her nieces and nephews (of which there are many) we will miss you but never forget all those laughs, as well as you reminding us about how things in life must be done and how to do them. We thank you Aunt Peggy for all the stories made during family reunions and visits; we will forever share the laughs and memories of those days and we will never forget. You will always be with us in our hearts.
Peggy will be laid to rest with her husband Don at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
A private Celebration of Life for Peggy will be held for family and friends in April 2026 in Moscow, ID. For additional information please email Kay Hodge at [email protected].
