

He was the son of Henry P. and Valerie C. Kelley. Michael was born in Philadelphia, PA, raised in Manhasset, NY and Somers Point, NJ. He graduated from Ocean City High School, NJ and attended both the United States Merchant Marine Academy, NY and Boston University.
Mr. Kelley was employed with the Air National Guard for 36 years, predominantly with the 102d Fighter Wing at both Logan International Airport and Otis Air National Guard Base. He also served in the New Jersey Air National Guard in Atlantic City and five years at Andrews Air Force Base, MD, finishing his career serving at the rank of colonel. During his retirement from the military, he was a member of the Otis Civilian Advisory Council, worked as a consultant for the National Guard Bureau but found his true joy and calling working with his hands in his home workshop or being the ‘village blacksmith’ at the Bourne Society for Historical Preservation’s Alonzo Booth Forge since 2018.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Kathleen Kelley, of Pocasset and brother, Paul Kelley of Maryland. Survivors include his son, Michael C. Kelley and daughter-in-law Colleen of Pocasset, two grandchildren, Madigan Kelley and Sean Kelley of Pocasset; and a niece and nephew, Diana Kelley and Matthew Kelley.
A service remembering Mr. Kelley will be on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, prior to burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
It is suggested in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P. O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9229.
