Nelson T. Brace

Nelson was born in Malden Mass on March 16, 1940. He was a graduate of Billerica High School and the

Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Nelson married his one true love Sharon B Dill on May 16, 1964.

They raised their family in Buzzards Bay Mass. Nelson coached his girls in softball as well as his son thru

his baseball years. He was on many committees and leagues for the Town of Bourne throughout his

lifetime.

Nelson was a Merchant Marine and then a Massachusetts State Trooper in his younger years. He made

many lifelong friends with those he served with. Since retirement he turned his photography hobby into

being a published photographer. He enjoyed his Thursday morning coffee meetings with his fellow

photographers and friends, Clem, Rob, Dick, Wayne, Kenny and John.

Nelson or as he was affectionately known as “Bumpa”; is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon; his

children Kristen Willard and her husband Paul of Wareham; Kevin Brace of Plymouth and Karen Merkel

and her husband Jim of Bridgewater; Grandchildren include Becca, Kim, Paul, DJ, Chris, Kaitlyn, Kevin

and Emma; Great Grandchildren Andrew, Nathan, Ben, Donovan, James, Annabelle and Rylee; Three

sisters Bettsie Brace, Cindy Creegan and Joyce Beals as well as many nieces and nephews. He was

predeceased by his parents and in laws.

Services are private with a celebration of life at a later date. The family has asked in lieu of flowers that

donations in Nelsons name be made to your charity of choice.
