He was Born in New Bedford Massachusetts on February 19th, 1935 to Albert and Edna (Conniff) Eldridge II. He was a Cape Cod resident for
much of his life. Norman retired from the Massachusetts Army National Guard in 1992.
He was a master gardener, who loved being outdoors, and took great pride in his plants and
flowers. He had extensive knowledge about many things, especially nature and history.
Although most people knew him as a quiet man, he always loved sharing his knowledge of
things with others. He enjoyed his vast collection of rocks, shells, and minerals from places he
traveled to. His grandchildren inherited their love of nature from him.
He is predeceased by his parents; Albert and Edna (Conniff) Eldridge II, brothers; Donald and
Charles Eldridge, His first wife, Anne S. Lackie, as well as his longtime partner Michelle Crosbie.
He is survived by his children; Thora Xifaras of Jacksonville Florida, Tamsen Wehncke of
Franklin, New Hampshire, Marc Eldridge (Karen) of Washington, New Hampshire, Stefanie Gee
of New Ipswich, New Hampshire, Catherine Shaw (Robert) of Chichester, New Hampshire,
Ellen Eldridge of Deering, New Hampshire, and Amy Cate (Jason) of Hillsboro, New Hampshire,
ten grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his second wife, Nancy
Aguiar of Franklin, New Hampshire.
A service will be held at Oakland Grove Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts on Tuesday, October 3rd at 11:00 a.m.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Operation Homefront, or to a Veterans charity of your choice.
