Lt. Colonel Robert H. Kreisinger, Jr., 86, died suddenly on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothea, his children Julia, Robert, and Bryan, his grandchildren Kelsey and Abigail, his sister Ellamay, and his cat Lily.
Bob was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania in July 1938. He graduated from Wyomissing High School in 1956 and from Ursinus College in 1960 and attended graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania before joining the United States Air Force in 1961. Bob served his country at various bases all over the United States and in Turkey, culminating in the command of the PAVE PAWS radar in Sagamore, MA. Retiring after 20 years of military service, Bob stayed in Sandwich and worked for Raytheon as a technical writer and then the civilian manager of PAVE PAWS.
Singing was an integral part of Bob’s life. His deep bass voice graced choirs at all churches he attended, including Swift Memorial in Sagamore and First Church Sandwich, as well as the Cape Cod Chorale and the choral group ‘We are the Men’. He also served First Church as chair of the Finance Committee and, as an accomplished woodworker, Bob contributed significant time and craftmanship to support the church’s fundraising efforts.
After they both retired, Bob and Dotty traveled extensively, visiting six of the seven continents of the world. Their adventures included trekking and rafting in Nepal, cruising the Amazon in Brazil, going on safari in Tanzania, negotiating with cows in India, visiting Christmas markets in Germany, singing in cathedrals in France, and riding camels in Australia. In his later years, Bob was happy to be at home with his wife, mowing the lawn, completing newspaper puzzles, petting the cat, and going out to lunch with his friends and family.
Bob will be immensely missed by all who loved him. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at First Church in Sandwich on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 3PM. His remains will be interred at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne and in the family plot at St. John’s Hains Church in Wernersville PA.
