

Sagamore Beach - Scott David Simard passed away unexpectedly on March 3, 2015. He was the loving husband of Heather (Burns) Simard, and devoted father of two beautiful and spirited daughters, 10 year old Brooke and 6 year old Taylor. Scott and Heather were longtime sweethearts who had been married for 11 happy years. They resided primarily in the Sagamore Beach area where they enjoyed summer days going to the beach and spending happy times with friends and neighbors.
Scott was born on Sept 15, 1972 at the Malden Hospital to Peter Simard and Patricia (Orpen) Simard. Scott grew up in Easton, MA where he graduated from the Oliver Ames High School in 1990. After high school, he attended Stonehill College where he was a member of the Stonehill Skyhawks, the school’s NCAA baseball team. Upon graduation from college in 1994, Scott received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Possessing a natural penchant for computers, Scott began his professional career in the Information Technology field before ultimately entering into the family’s marketing business where he was employed until the time of his unfortunate passing.
Scott’s many hobbies included boating, fishing, skiing, attending concerts with his family and being an avid fan of all New England sports teams. Known for possessing a brilliant mind, he was knowledgeable of a wide variety of topics and was often sought by friends and family alike for his opinions and assistance. In his 43 short years, Scott befriended a great many people and will be sorely missed by all.
In addition to his wife and daughters, Scott is survived by his parents who still reside in Easton MA, his brother Peter Jr, his wife Maureen and their daughters Hunter, Alex and Jordon of Plymouth MA, his mother in law Coleen Burns and her companion Tim Constantine of Wareham MA, his father in law Mr. Paul Burns of Eastham MA, and his sister in law Erin Criscitelli, her husband Adam and their daughter Ella of East Granby, CT.
A Funeral Service for all wishing to attend will be held at the Nickerson Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd in Bourne MA at 12:30pm on Sunday March 8, 2015. This will be followed by visiting hours at the Funeral Home until 4pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Boston University CTE Center (http://www.bu.edu/cte/financial-support/) to support brain injury research.
