

Thomas L. Ligor died peacefully at the Bridges by Epoch Assisted Living Center in Mashpee, MA on Friday, March 13, 2026 at the age of 84. His first two years of life were spent in New York which is where his parents first lived after immigrating from Albania, where his brother, Peter and sister, Phyllis, were born. He grew up in Worcester and attended the Worcester Public Schools.
He was predeceased by both siblings and survived by his two sons: James Ligor and his wife, Jill and Marc Ligor and his wife, Lilian. He leaves 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Julia and Lucas. He also leaves his partner of 34 years, Linda Carpeno. His wife, Barbara (Carrachino) Ligor, and mother of his two sons, died in 1991 at the age of 48. He also leaves 2 nieces, Kimberly Crocker Crowther and Patricia Allard as well as one nephew, David Flynn.
Thomas worked his entire teaching career at King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham, MA where he enjoyed teaching Biology. He was head of the Science Dept. for many years and served as president of the Teachers Union for many years. He was very dedicated to his profession. He moved to the Cape in 2007 after living in Milford, MA for several decades and raising his family there.
Thomas received his Bachelor's Degree from Worcester State University and received a Master's Degree from Rhode Island College. He was an avid youth sports coach, predominantly in Milford with Milford Youth Baseball. He enjoyed pickup basketball in the famous Combat League at St. Mary's. He was passionate about the game of golf and enjoyed playing, watching and teaching the game. Thomas expressed great love for Cape Cod and its environment and served on the Bourne Conservation Commission for over 11 years. He served on other committees that dealt with the preservation of the environment. His two great passions were golf and grandchildren and he spent as much time as allowed on both.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday March 21st from 10-1pm at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, MA. Burial will be private.
