Thomas Leo Venezia Jr.

Thomas was born February 7, 1992 in Dorchester. He was the son of Thomas Leo and the late Traci Elizabeth (Taylor) Venezia. He grew up in Sagamore Beach and attended the Cape Cod Collaborative School on Otis Air National Guard Base, and graduated in 2010. He then interned at the Unit Equipment Training Site where he learned to work on military tanks and utility vehicles. He was a self-employed mechanic.

He enjoyed everything about the outdoors, all motor sports, the ocean, going to the beach, boating, with a special passion for fishing. He loved muscle cars, four wheel drive trucks, and fast cars, and generally just getting his hands dirty, whatever he was working on. His biggest thrill was his 1957 Chevy Race Car. He loved drawing, country music and the art of tattoos.

He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Edward Hoey and Pasquale Venezia, his mother Traci Venezia, and his brother Nicholas Eliseo Venezia.

He is lovingly survived by his father Thomas Venezia Sr. his step-mother Judi Adams, and his sister Franchesca Venezia , all of Sagamore Beach. His brother-in-law Anthony Ferguson of Shrewsbury and his step-sister Jennifer Adams of Quincy. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Marlene Hoey of W. Harwich, and Lucy Venezia of Marshfield, and his sweetheart Lindsey Lumbert of East Falmouth. Thomas also is survived by his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends.

There will be calling hours with the family on Monday, February 22, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA 02532.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 23, at 11:00 AM, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Buzzards Bay. Cremation will follow, and inurnment will be at a later date in the Sandwich Town Cemetery, Sandwich.

The family suggests memorials be made in Thomas’ name to the Department of Veteran Affairs, Chapter 7, 19 Willis Street, New Bedford, MA 02740, Attention David Pinto.
