Torrey Allen Toltin, MD, 66, of Sandwich, MA passed away unexpectedly at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA on August 18th 2019. He was born to the late George and Evelyn (Ardent) Toltin on May 4, 1953.
Torrey was raised in Barrington, IL and attended Barrington High School and Loyola University and attended medical school at Universidad Del Noreste. He was a dedicated pediatrician for 30 years. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family going on vacations, grilling and playing Uno and cribbage. He loved playing golf and watching the Red Sox and could always be seen wearing a denim baseball cap.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Marianne Toltin, MD (ne Koenig) his daughters Sarah and husband Robbie Robinson, Abigail and fiancé Adam Bitzer, and son Gregory. His sisters Amber Toltin and Georgia and her husband Dwight Pruett, two nieces Amelia Cooper and Gwen Pruett,1 nephew Tyler Strieby and his brother-in-law Charlie Koenig. He leaves behind 3 cats (Henry, Wall-E and Rusty) and his loving dog Molly. He has three grandpups Sage, Theia and Ollie. And a grand-fish Basil.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday August 27th at 11AM, Holy Name of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in New Bedford, MA, 121 Mount Pleasant St. Burial will be private. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday evening from 5-8PM at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, MA.
