William Gary Allen (1944-2021) of Falmouth, MA, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. His wife, Carolyn and his two sons, Taylor and Samuel will miss him terribly. A loving husband and father, he was a steady ship, always steering to calm waters.
Bill served two tours of duty as a Marine in Vietnam following graduation in 1962 from Brockton High School. On his return, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and later a Masters of Art Education from the University of Massachusetts.
He taught fine arts at Brockton High School for 35 years, earning many awards, culminating with the distinguished Art Educator of the Year Award from Massachusetts College of Art.
Bill was an exceptionally talented artist. His works can still be viewed at Miller White Fine Arts in South Dennis, or on his website: wgallenpaintings.com. A one-man exhibition of his work is scheduled to open in the gallery in fall/winter 2021.
Anyone who knew Bill would use the adjectives: strong, kind, talented, gentle, loving, and witty.
In addition to his wife and two sons, he leaves his beloved Pug, Chubz, his sister Cherie, brother and sister-in-law Ron and Von, his New Jersey in-laws Richard and Nancy Johnson and several dear cousins and family friends.
Bill will be buried in a private ceremony on Cape Cod at the Massachusetts National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 11:15 A.M. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Disabled American Veterans Charity or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be planned for a later date.
