

She had dementia said her daughter Sharon Cockram.
Dot was an avid duckpin bowler for over 40 years in several leagues and had been an active member in a ladies sorority. Her other hobbies included singing, doing crossword puzzles, reading and cheering on the Washington Redskins. She and her late husband, Roy, belonged to the White Sands Yacht Club for many years and she held several offices in the ‘She Shells’ Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Avondale Baptist Church.
Dot, who was a native Washingtonian, had been a Greenbelt resident for 17 years. She graduated from McKinley Tech High School. After graduation, she began her career as a secretary although her dream was to be a singer/actress. Her dream was consummated at the age of 19 when she recorded ‘I’ll Never Smile Again’ with the Electric Institute of Washington D. C.
Survivors include three children, Sharon Cockram of Seabrook, MD; Roy Peters III and Terri Pasquarello, both of Redding, CA; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren with another expected this year.
She was predeceased by her two brothers and one sister.
