Euril William Perry, the son of the late Louis and Lucille Freeman Perry, was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Joyce Banks, Harriette Henderson, and Elizabeth Reid. He leaves to mourn his wife, Edith; his brother, Thomas; and his five children, Euril W. Perry, Jr., Linda Lucille Perry-Johnson, Cecilia Perry, Teresa Perry, and Thomas Perry; and their mother Emma L. Perry.
He attended public school in Stillwater and attended Samuel Houston College in Austin, Texas; graduating with a Bachelors in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951 with a career that took him to several duty stations. He retired from Andrews Air Force Base in July 1979, with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He received a direct commission from the President two years after enlisting, which promoted him from corporal to first lieutenant. Every two to three years, he received consistent promotions due to his thorough and meticulous attention to detail in the laboratory field. After retirement, he took his laboratory expertise to Providence Hospital and the American Red Cross. He also earned his real estate license and worked with Mid Atlantic Builders for over seven years.
After college, he was baptized into the Catholic faith. He loved to sing, and his favorite entertainer was Frank Sinatra. His nickname was "Old Brown Eyes". If you closed your eyes when he sang, it was Sinatra that you heard, with his added soulful melodic tone. One of his favorite Sinatra songs was "I Did it My Way," and he did. He has joined that famous "Rat Pack" in heaven, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Dean Martin.
A Memorial Service will be held 10 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2011 at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, Maryland 20715.
Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
