Fran was born October 4, 1927, in Jersey City, NJ to the late Martin and Catherine Dzurilla. She was the youngest of four children, all sisters – Verona, Catherine, and Mary, who preceded her in death. Upon high school graduation, she attended Fordham University in the Bronx, NY where she received her Associates Degree in Business. When she married Paul F. Blasko, Sr. in 1948, she joined him at the Blasko family home in Port Chester, NY where they raised their two sons – Paul F. Blasko, Jr. and Edward Blasko.
Fran always had a smile on her face as she placed faith and family first throughout her life and was a kind and gentle spirit. She loved spending time with family and friends and especially loved watching her grandchildren grow up. Frances also enjoyed spending time in her garden, working on ceramic projects, and catching up on her sewing and reading. Upon retirement in 2000, she and Paul moved from New York to Bowie, MD and became part of the St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church family and attended many programs at the Senior Center. Several years after the move in 2012, however, her beloved husband of 64 years, Paul Sr. passed away.
Frances will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her two sons and their families, Paul & Mo and their children, Katie, Colleen and Michael, and Ed & Linda of Stony Brook, Long Island, NY and their children Russell, and Daniel, his wife Christy and precious great-granddaughter, Savannah in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends here, and in Slovakia and Canada.
