Franette L. Newman of Bowie passed of complications related to Parkinson’s at home on March 19, 2023. Mrs. Newman was born in Pittsburg, PA to Robert K. and Elizabeth L. Long. She graduated from Tyrone Area High School, Tyrone, PA and Penn State University, State College, PA. Mrs. Newman was a musician and worked as a church organist and choir director for several parishes. Survivors include two sons, Thomas R. Newman of Edgewater, MD and David J. Newman of Odenton, MD.
