June Lavina Kozikowski

June L. Kozikowski (76) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at her daughter's home in Centreville, MD. Born August 13, 1939 in Emlenton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Grace Ritchey. She was the wife of the late Stanley Kozikowski , her loving husband of 37 years. Mrs. Kozikowski attended Grove City College in western PA.

She was a medical technologist at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC until her retirement in 2002. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching college basketball, especially her Maryland Terrapins, cruises with her family and collecting beer steins.

June is survived by her children; daughter Karen (Charles) Zimmerman of New Windsor, MD, daughter Judy (Shawn) Farrell of Centreville, MD, son Michael (Misty) Kozikowski of Frederick, MD. She is the devoted grandmother of Evan Zimmerman, Caitlin Farrell, Casey Farrell, Katherine Zimmerman, Connor Farrell, Kira Zimmerman and Lily Kozikowski. June has one surviving sister Bev Eckelbarger and her husband Robert of Emlenton, PA. She was predeceased by a sister Maxine McCall and her husband Oscar.

The family will receive friends at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at the United Parish of Bowie, 2515 Mitchellville Road, Bowie, MD. Pastor Chris Deacon will officiate . Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Parish of Bowie or the Alzheimer's Foundation, 322 Eighth Ave, 7th floor, New York, NY 10001.
